Sanjeev Nanda - Turning Businesses into empires

Sanjeev Nanda (born 1978) is a businessman and the son of Suresh Nanda, he is the grandson of India's reputed ex-Chief of Naval Staff-turned businessman, S. M. Nanda from New Delhi.
As Managing Director of Claridges Hotels and Resorts, Sanjeev Nanda is responsible for leading the group and plays a decisive role in directing and shaping the company’s expansion and growth strategies. The group owns and operates The Claridges, New Delhi; The Claridges, Surajkund, Delhi, NCR; The Claridges Nabha Residence, Mussoorie; and The Atrium, Delhi, NCR.

In April 2003, Sanjeev Nanda took over as Managing Director of The Claridges Hotels and Resorts with its head office in New Delhi, India. As a marketing professional, he is responsible for the overall performance of the Company.  His vision is to make The Claridges the most preferred hotel for guests in every destination where the group has a presence. Sanjeev along with his core team has been working with leading international architects and interior designers to create products with world-class facilities and services.

Sanjeev is also spearheading the group’s expansion plans and has been evaluating potential properties in metro destinations. He is also in consultation with leading international hotel chains for partnerships.

Prior to this assignment, Sanjeev was heading Commerce One India, where he was in charge of implementing and executing several turnkey projects for the Central & State Governments.

Sanjeev is also the Founder Director of Sonnet Systems Pvt. Ltd. that has tie-ups with companies specializing in web development on Microsoft platforms. It is now servicing clients with entire back end operations in the Middle East.

Sanjeev Nanda graduated from The Wharton School, Philadelphia, US in 1999, majoring in Finance & Management with a minor in Economics.  He went on to earn an MBA in Entrepreneurship from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France in 2004.

Sanjeev is a Member of the marketing Committee of the Global Trading Web Council.  He is also a certified eCommerce professional from Software Technology Group, India.

Sanjeev is an accomplished pianist from Trinity college of Music.  He is also a sportsman and enjoys a game of tennis, cricket or golf.
